Privacy Policy
You are sending property documents and family details to a firm on the other side of the world. This page explains exactly what happens to them.
Effective 7 September 2026 Β· Last updated 7 September 2026
This policy covers NRI Valuers, trading as NRI Valuers, and this website. We are based in India and most of the people we work for are not. That combination is why this page is more specific than most.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details. Your name, phone number, email address, WhatsApp number and the country you are writing from.
- Property information. The address, type, size and condition of the property, and what you need the valuation for.
- Documents. Sale deeds, title documents, property tax receipts, approved plans, mutation records, succession or probate papers, identity documents where a bank or court requires them, and anything else you send to support the valuation.
- Correspondence. WhatsApp messages, emails and notes from calls, kept so that whoever picks up your file next knows what was already discussed.
Information we generate
- Site photographs. Our engineer photographs the property. Every image carries the date, time and location it was taken. That is deliberate, because it is what makes the report defensible later.
- Measurements and observations recorded during the inspection.
- The valuation report itself and the working behind it.
Information collected automatically
This website has no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. What still happens automatically is limited to two things, and both are covered in detail on our cookies and local storage page:
- Server logs. Our host records the IP address, browser type and page requested for each visit, as any web server does, and uses it to keep the service running and secure.
- Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google that reveals your IP address to them.
Why we use it, and on what basis
| What we use | What for | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Contact and property details | Giving you a quote and answering your questions | Steps taken at your request before a contract |
| Documents and site photographs | Preparing the valuation you engaged us for | Performance of our contract with you |
| Your file after delivery | Answering later questions from a tax officer, bank or court, and meeting our own record keeping obligations | Legal obligation and our legitimate interest in standing behind work we signed |
| Server logs | Keeping the site up and secure | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure website |
Who sees it
Access is limited to the people who need it to do the job:
- The valuer and engineer assigned to your property.
- Support staff preparing and issuing the report.
- Your own advisors, such as your chartered accountant, CPA or lawyer, but only where you have asked us to speak to them.
- Service providers who host this site, deliver our email and process payments. They act on our instructions and see only what their function requires.
- Authorities, where a court, tax authority or regulator lawfully requires it, or where we are compelled by law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. We do not use your documents to train anything.
Where your information sits
We are an Indian firm and your file is held in India. This website is hosted on Vercel's global infrastructure, which means the pages you view may be served from a location near you and our server logs may be processed outside India.
If you are writing to us from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with its own transfer rules, understand that engaging us involves sending your information to India. We rely on that transfer being necessary for the contract you are asking us to perform.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become jobs. Up to twelve months, then deleted.
- Completed valuation files. Kept for at least eight years. A valuation is frequently questioned years after it was issued, by a tax officer, a bank or the other side in a dispute, and a report we cannot evidence is a report we cannot defend. Professional and tax record keeping obligations point the same way.
- Accounting records. As long as Indian tax law requires.
- Server logs. A short rolling window, typically weeks rather than months.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete what we hold, subject to the retention periods above. We cannot delete a signed valuation file that we may be called on to defend, and we will tell you plainly when that is the reason.
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it, without affecting anything done beforehand.
- Complain to us first, and then to your data protection authority if we have not put it right.
If India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies to you, it also gives you the right to nominate somebody to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated. If UK or EU data protection law applies to you, you additionally have rights to restrict or object to certain processing and to receive your data in a portable form.
To exercise any of this, write to nrivaluers@gmail.com. Grievances are handled by the partner responsible for client data. We aim to respond within thirty days and will tell you if we need longer.
Security
We restrict file access to the people working on your job, use reputable providers for hosting and email, and do not keep payment card details ourselves. No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than promise otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information in a way that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. Where a minor has an interest in a property being valued, we deal with their parent, guardian or legal representative.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and move the date at the top. If a change is significant and affects a live job, we will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice.
